Richmond, CA oil workers’ strike, 1969

Although his recent autobiography downplays it, Obama-backer Bob Avakian organized the Richmond oil workers’ strike in 1969 as his only really successful work among “workers,” according to articles by his contemporaries.

For the most part, Avakian failed in organizing “workers” and called the problem “economism.” That was his way of saying leadership was important and that the “workers” are not “parasites” the way MIM says.
